Vibrant Gujarat 2015 .......7th Global Summit

Vibrant Gujarat is the name given to a biennial investors' summit held by the Government of Gujarat in Gujarat, India. The event is aimed at bringing together business leaders, investors, corporations, thought leaders, policy and opinion makers; the summit is advertised as a platform to understand and explore business opportunities in the State of Gujarat.


Started in 2003 with modest investment announcements, Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit swelled in size and scale over the years. By 2007, the event took a shape of a major congregation of who's who of India Inc lining up to share the dais with then chief minister Narendra Modi. The 2013 edition, which saw much attraction from the small and medium enterprises with focus on technology transfer, employment generation and skill development, became a platform for other states to come together to interact with global industries and attract investments in their respective states. In 2013 event, about 2,100 foreign delegates from 121 countries and about 5,800 delegates from India participated in the event.

The preparation of 7th Vibrant Gujarat Summit, which is planned during 11th to 13th January 2015 at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India have began well ahead by the Government of Gujarat after the Vibrant Gujarat 2013 Summit resounding success.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the seventh edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit.

The sixth edition of the summit provided enormous prospects to the State to display its strengths, progressive stand, initiatives taken to improve governance, investor friendly climate and art & culture of Gujarat. Six summits held so far have been a resounding success that immensely contributed to transformation of Gujarat into a "Global Business Hub". The brand "Vibrant Gujarat" began as an "Investors' Summit" has now evolved into an ideal platform for knowledge sharing, social and business transformation. 

The prime focus of Government of Gujarat is Inclusive development and the key areas for development identified included: Innovation, Sustainability, Youth & Skill Development, Knowledge Sharing and Networking. Also, this Summit is an ideal convergence for other states and other countries to showcase their strengths, highlight business opportunities, facilitate knowledge dissemination etc. It also provides an attractive opportunity to its participants to understand the potential of Gujarat in various sectors. Besides, it provides platform to interact with policy makers, industry leaders, and renowned academicians from all over the world.

Speaking at the curtain raiser for Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2015 in New Delhi, Chief Minister of Gujarat Anandiben Patel stated that the upcoming Summit will provide a platform for engagement with other countries on modernization, youth, skill development, women empowerment, knowledge sharing and networking.

The chief minister also held one-to-one meetings with business leaders which included representatives from Maruti Suzuki, Mitsubishi Corporation, MoserBaer, Hindustan Power Projects, Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India Ltd, Hero MotoCorp, Honda Cars India, DCM Shriram and top officials of public sector majors like ONGC, BHEL and GAIL.

While the envoys from Japan and Korea held meetings with the Chief Minister in New Delhi, high-level delegation from Thailand and Israel also met Anandiben.

The summit will see seminars and B2B meets and one-to-one meetings by representatives and business leaders from countries including Australia, Canada, China, Japan, Netherlands, Singapore, South Africa, UK and USA.
