Eid Mubarak – Eid-ul-Fitr in Ahmedabad 2013

Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the most significant festivals of Muslims, is on 9th August this year. This day marks the end of the holy month of Ramazan. It is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal (tenth month of the Islamic calendar), after the completion of the month-long fast of Ramazan. On the last day of Ramazan, after sunset, people eagerly wait to catch a glimpse of the crescent moon. Once the moon is spotted, celebrations of Eid ul-Fitr begin and the month of fasting ends with grand feasting with family and friends.
